MaaS360 Known Limitations
- iOS 11.3 Change In Behavior
iOS 11.3 adds a new restriction to the existing "Managed to Unmanaged" MDM features. This will now prevent applications from sharing contacts with non-managed apps if the feature is enabled. There is no separate property, at this time, which can allow the contacts, the entire "Managed to Unmanaged" restriction must be disabled.
- MaaS360 Secure Editor for iOS and Grey Bar on UI: Dec 6, 2017. There is a UI glitch in the MaaS360 Secure Editor that results in some users experiencing a transparent grey window to appear in the middle of the app. Editing capabilities are not hindered by this anomaly, and all other capabilities are intact. The glitch is the result of previously unknown SDK integration limitation. This only impacts iOS and will be resolved in the upcoming iOS Secure Editor minor release v 2.21.7released on 13 Dec 2017. Please follow the wiki release page for updates
Third party keyboards used within the MaaS360 container are not recognized by the security timeout values enforced in Persona policies. This means if the application reaches it’s timeout limit while a third party keyboard is in use, the app will bring the user to the lock screen, and interrupt the existing workflow
If your corporate policy restricts clipboard export from MaaS360 container to third party applications, this functionality does not work reliably on Samsung devices specifically running Android N. The API's used to restrict this clipboard operation is no longer supported on Samsung Android N. All non-Samsung devices running Android N will still continue to restrict clipboard operations. MaaS360 persona policy has been updated to indicate this limitation:

Android 5.85 release provides Android O day zero support, below are the known limitations of Android O.

Summary |
| 1. | The Wi-Fi hostname payload is not reported to the MaaS360 portal; as a result, Unknown value is displayed in the Device View > Android Wi-Fi Hostname. |
| 2. | Enrollment through QR code scan is not supported on Android for Work devices. |
| 3. | Web shortcuts deployed from the portal are not displayed. |
| 4. |
Android O introduced a new way to handle app installations from unknown sources. With this feature, the installation permissions are granted at the app level as opposed to the previous methods of granting permissions at global level. While installing the MaaS360 app, users will now be greeted with an alert message that leads you to the Settings screen for granting installation source permission.
To allow the installation from MaaS360 app, tap the switch next to Allow from this source.
Note: You can always revoke the access from the Settings later. |
| 5. | The installation of the Kiosk apps is stuck at Draw over other apps permission. |
| 6. | Users cannot sort the work apps by their size in the Android for Work devices. |
| 7. |
After the Allow installation of apps from unknown sources option is deprecated, the devices that fall out of compliance due to the following policy cannot be brought back to compliance state: Security > App Security > Allow installation of non google play applications |
Starting July 31, 2017, Bing Maps will no longer support Internet Explorer. Bing Maps are the maps used within the MaaS360 portal for all Location maps that are presented. Because of the changes from the vendor, if the administrator uses Internet Explorer while in the MaaS360 portal these maps will no longer render.
The following workflows are affected due to this:
a) Device Locations on My Alert Center
b) Location Information on Device Views (Devices >> Inventory >> Select a device >> Location Information)
c) Locate action on a device (Devices >> Inventory >> Select a device >> Actions >> Locate)
d) Locations for Geo-fencing (Security >> Locations >> Add Address based Location)
The following warning message will be presented to the administrator - Please use Microsoft Edge or any other Browser supported within the MaaS360 Portal.
