Troubleshooting
Problem
Unable to edit node name in Lenovo XClarity Administrator (LXCA) Manager or Common Information Model (CIM) in the listed systems. The issue can be observed by performing the following: 1. Login to the Lenovo XClarity Administrator web page. 2. Click on'Hardware' --> 'All Servers'. 3. Select a server from the list, and click 'Edit properties' to change the column 'name'. Users will see an error 'Network error' and the node name will not be changed.

Symptom
Unable to edit node name in Lenovo XClarity Administrator (LXCA) Manager or Common Information Model (CIM) in the listed systems.
The issue can be observed by performing the following:
- Login to the Lenovo XClarity Administrator web page.
- Click on 'Hardware' --> 'All
Servers'.
- Select a server from the list, and click 'Edit
properties' to change the column 'name'.
Users will see an error 'Network error' and the node name will not be changed.

- Flex System x222 Compute Node, type 2589, any model
- Flex System x222 Compute Node, type 7916, any model
- Flex System x280 X6 Compute Node, type 4259, any model
- Flex System x280 X6 Compute Node, type 7903 , any model
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Lenovo XClarity Administrator, any N/A, any version
This tip is not option specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected: Build ID:
- 1aoo65i
Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution
This behavior will be corrected in Integrated Management Module (IMM) firmware scheduled for fourth quarter 2015 release.
Workaround
Use the following methods to work around the issue:
Integrated Management Module (IMM) web page:
Under 'System Status', click 'Rename System Descriptive Name...' link to edit the node name.
Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) Command:
ipmitool raw 0x3a 0x0c 0xf0 0x08 0x10 node name
Advanced Settings Utility (ASU) Command:
asu set IMM.IMMInfo_Name **
