Troubleshooting
Problem
LPM validation fails against the mobile partition.
Symptom
HSCLA217 The partition cannot be migrated because it is enabled as a redundant error path reporting partition. To migrate this partition, change the redundant error path reporting property in the partition profile and activate the partition again to apply the new profile. Then try the migration operation again.
Environment
PowerVM VIOS 2.2 managed by an HMC
AIX 7.1 and 7.2
Resolving The Problem
1. Disable the "Enable Redundant Error Path Reporting" setting on the mobile partition's profile.
To disable the setting, login to the HMC GUI as hscroot.
For HMC Enhanced GUI
a. Select the source managed system name (where the mobile partition resides)
b. Click Actions > View Systems Partitions
c. Select the mobile partition
d. Click Actions > Profiles > Manage Profiles
e. Select the "Last Activated" profile

c. Select the mobile partition
d. Click Actions > Profiles > Manage Profiles
e. Select the "Last Activated" profile
f. Click Actions > Edit (this will open the Manage Profile window)
g. Click on the Settings tab and uncheck the "Enable Redundant Error Path Reporting" setting as shown below:
h. Click OK
For HMC Classic GUI
a. Open Systems Management on the left navigation.
b. Click Servers
c. Select the source managed system name (where the mobile partition resides)
d. Select the mobile partition

e. Click Tasks > Configuration > Managed Profiles
f. Select the "Last Activated" profile
g. Click Actions > Edit (this will open the Manage Profile window similar to the one above for the Enhanced GUI)
f. Select the "Last Activated" profile
g. Click Actions > Edit (this will open the Manage Profile window similar to the one above for the Enhanced GUI)
h. Click on the Settings tab and uncheck the "Enable Redundant Error Path Reporting" setting.
2. Reactivate (Shutdown; Activate) the mobile partition for the profile changes to take effect.
3. Retry LPM Validation.
