Symptom
The released Linux Software Update Package (SUP) for Linux device driver update, for IBM BladeCenter and System x Broadcom-based NetXtreme II Ethernet products, does not support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5) Update 4 (U4).
Attempting to use this Linux software update package for RHEL5 U4 will result in a failure with this error message:

- NetXtreme II 1000 Express Ethernet adapter, Option part number 39Y6066, replacement part number (FRU) 39Y6070

Solution
This behavior is now fixed with the bnx2-2.0.8e, or later, SUP build for RHEL5 for IBM BladeCenter and System x NetXtreme II products.

Workaround
There is native driver support for all System x Broadcom-based NetXtreme II products with RHEL5 U4.
If the latest driver is needed, use the latest Linux driver provided from the latest software CD release for IBM System x Broadcom-based NetXtreme II products at this IBM software download support URL:

Additional information
The bnx2-2.0.8e SUP package provides native driver support for all System x Broadcom-based NetXtreme II products with RHEL5 U4.
