Summary
We are supplying links to PDF files for Backup and Recovery documents of releases V5R4 and V6R1. Also we are giving the links for the upgrade documents for V7R1.
Objective
We are supplying the following links for V5R4, V6R1, and V7R1 documents as those releases are now out of support but some may want to upgrade to V7R1.

This document talks about the new changes in V7R1.
Chapters 4, 5, and 6 are the main chapters to concentrate on when upgrading from V5R4 and V6R1.
These PTFs are necessary to be on the source system so that the upgrade can take place.
There is a tool that can be downloaded to a pc and be run against the system to be upgraded, PRe-Upgrade Verication (PRUV). It will check for a number of known issues and will issue a report as to whether the system is ready for the upgrade or not. Here is a link to a document that shows how to download that tool.
Because V5R4 and V6R1 are out of support we will attempt to assist customers that are in the process of upgrading to V7R1.
