Symptom
The Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) Remote Console will launch, but fail to display the Remote dialog box and give the indication that a very long start up process is occurring.
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- Flex System x440 Compute Node, type 2584, any model
- Flex System x440 Compute Node, type 7917, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected:
- 1AOO32M
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This behavior was corrected in IMM2 firmware version 1.88 Build ID: 1AOO40A.
The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Workaround
Refresh the The IMM browser page if the Remote Control fails to load completely.
Additional information
The IMM Remote Console page fails to load because one of the files that gets downloaded, the "serverRemoteControl.js" file, is slower than the second file.
Refreshing -- reloading the IMM browser page after the first time -- helps get the "serverRemoteContol.js" file loaded before the second file and the Remote Console displays.
The fix will modify the way the second file gets activated to allow the first file, if it encounters a launch request where it loads slower, enough time to load.
