Problem
The purpose of this document is to list the license key requirements for using IPDS printing or using Infoprint Server's PDF Transform functionality.
Resolving The Problem
The following sections list the license key requirements for using Print Services Facility/400 (PSF/400) or using Infoprint Server's PDF Transform functionality.
IPDS Printing
| o | Some twinax attached printers can be configured as IPDS devices with AFP *NO. In this case, no license is required. |
| o | Twinax attached printers configured as IPDS devices with AFP *YES require a license for PSF/400 (5722SS1, 5761SS1, or 5770SS1, Option 36, 37, or 38). |
| o | Network (LAN) attached printers configured as IPDS devices must have AFP set to *YES. In this case, a license for PSF/400 (5722SS1, 5761SS1, or 5770SS1, Option 36, 37, or 38) is required. |
Infoprint Server:
| o | When using a device description that is configured as *LAN, *IPDS, AFP *YES to transform spooled files to PDF format, then the BASE option of Infoprint Server is required (5722IP1 *BASE). PSF/400 is not required. |
| o | When using the Transform Manager to transform PDF or Postscript data to AFPDS, and if the system is at V5R2 or below, then Infoprint Server is required. If the system is at V5R3 or above, then both the BASE option and Option 1 of Infoprint Server are required (5722IP1 *BASE and Option 1). |
