Note: Notice to Users April 24th 2014: Enhancement of Key Management
Dear user, we are happy to inform you about the latest improvements on the Entitled Support Site.
Today has been installed some enhancements on the key management function.
First of all key management is now called : Power i, iSeries, AS/400 software keys.
Furthermore there is an additional step to perform before you can retrieve your keys : After you have selected the customer number and hardware serial number, a new screen will give you the Current IBM i OS version of your machine (based on the active key for the PID number 57XX-SS1 Code 5050) and a list of IBM i OS level keys available for the selected machine. The list is based on the active keys available for the machine.
The list of available keys for a version or release are based on compatibility - so the products not following the selected IBM i OS level will only show if it is compatible with the selected i OS.
The application only supports V5r3 and higher release or version. If you happen to have a machine in a lower version or release than V5R3, please contact customer support for keys retrieval.
Phone number and e-mail address 1-800-446-8989, Option 1 or wwswkeys@dk.ibm.com
Note: Due to the changes made on Power i, iSeries, AS/400 software keys. it is not possible anymore to look for a machine not registered under you profile under this function. You will have to register the customer number or machine hardware serial number before retrieving the keys. You can still use the quick search function without registration to look for SWMA records or entitlements
The following notice is included with the software package:
- Dear IBM Customer;
We have not shipped a printed Proof of Entitlement (PoE) document in the software package. Rather, an electronic Proof of Entitlement (ePoE) record was created that is available to you on the Web. This record can be printed for your records.
As a result of user feedback, we are implementing ePoE which we believe will result in improved and more efficient record keeping for user entitlements to use IBM software. The ePoE record is the official record of your entitlement and contains the following information: Product Name, Product Number, Product Option Number, Version, Install Code ID, Quantity, Proof Number, Customer Number, Machine Type/Serial (optional).
To access your ePoE, registration with IBM is required. Register at URL: http://www.ibm.com/account/registration/selfreg. With your registration, you can access the ePoE and software license key information at URL: http://www.ibm.com/eserver/ess. Your Customer Number and IBM Order Number (as specified on the Software Order Packing List provided with this software package) is required.
If this is an upgrade for this program, destroy the original IBM printed PoE for this software program. The ePoE record replaces it and is now the only record of your entitlement that IBM recognizes.
Program transfer capability is governed by the International Program License Agreement (IPLA) and License Information documentation shipped with this program. Refer to this documentation to understand your transfer rights and obligations. To transfer your program to another party outside of your Enterprise, contact the Software Key Center at the phone number provided at URL: http://www.ibm.com/eserver/ess.
If you are unable to access the Web sites or have questions on ePoE support, please contact the License Key Center at: 1-800-446-8989, Option 1 or wwswkeys@dk.ibm.com
