Abstract
This paper provides a summary of the various options that are available to reduce the size of an SAP system running on the IBM i operating system and DB2 database. Performance of SAP applications and system maintenance tasks improves with reduced data volume. Also described are hardware-based solutions to improve the performance of such tasks.
