Question & Answer

Question

(Legacy Interface): What is the difference between the API in Digital Analytics and the DDX (Tag Manager) API?

Answer

API (Application Programming Interface) is a convenient way of fetching reports without logging in to the actual application itself.

The IBM Digital Analytics API can be used to fetch standard reports that are available within the IBM Digital Analytics application such as Top Line Metrics Marketing Channels etc. You may fetch reports for time ranges that are supported in Analytics i.e Daily Weekly Monthly etc including custom date ranges. Please refer the IBM Digital Analytics User Guide Chapter 14 for more information.

DDX API on the other hand is used to fetch data in a raw?unprocessed format and is suitable for gathering data continuously at your end for:

  1. archival purposes and/or
  2. integrating our data with other sources of data for use within your organization

More information on DDX API can be found in the DDX API Guide.
