(Legacy Interface): How can I hide Client ID and Username details in my API URL?

Answer

It is possible to put an API URL through a 'URL shortener' application available free online. Using a 'URL shortener' (such as https://goo.gl/) will generate a short URL which will hide all information contained with ?? ?the URL, but will still generate the report in an '.xls' format. ?

For example:
https://welcome.coremetrics.com/analyticswebapp/api/1.0/topline-data/to…

This will turn into a URL such as:
https://goo.gl/7rAVuo

The extended version of the API URL can be edited via the URL (for example report frequency and date ranges), but this is not possible via the shortened version.

Please be advised users will still be able to see the full URL (with username details) by converting the shortened API URL back to the original extended version using some online applications (such as www.knowurl.com)
