Summary

By default, IBM Cloud Pak for Data user records are stored in an internal repository database. However, it is recommended that you use an enterprise-grade password management solution, such as single sign-on (SSO) or LDAP.

There are two options for LDAP integration in Cloud Pak for Data.
1. LDAP integration provided by Cloud Pak for Data (deprecated)
2. LDAP integration provided by the IBM Cloud Pak foundational services Identity Management Service

Starting from Cloud Pak for Data 4.7.x, the first option is deprecated.
This document describes how to enable LDAP/SAML integration provided by the IBM Cloud Pak foundational services Identity Management Service.
