Problem
Maximo 7.6 and Control Desk 7.6: Launchpad does not launch on Red Hat Linux 6.x 7.x with Mozilla Firefox 43.0.0 and newer
Cause

Environment
Red Hat Linux 6.x or 7.x, Mozilla Firefox 43.0.0 and later
Diagnosing The Problem
When executing launchpad.sh from a Terminal Window, the following will appear in the window:
Normally Launchpad will start after thus, but it does not.
Resolving The Problem
The instructions assume you are using a graphical user interface (Gnome, Linux VNC).
Install the product directly with IBM Installation Manager. If Installation Manager is not yet installed, install it first. If it is installed, go down to Add Product Repositories.
Install IBM Installation Manager
From the location that you extracted the Maximo or Control Desk installation packages, for example /root/instl/Install/IM/installer.linux.x64 (select the installation location according to your platform). Open a terminal window and execute install:
When IM restarts after installation, go to File > Preferences. In the Repositories section click on “Add Repository...”
Add Product Repositories
Navigate to the package you want to install, for example /instl/Install/ConfigToolRepository and select repository.config. Do this for each of the packages that need to be installed until all have been added.
Click OK. Now you can click on the Install or Update button in Installation Manager and you will see a list of products to be installed.
