JDBC Gateway Server Installation & Migration to user preferred Application Data Directory

Troubleshooting

Problem

How to override the use of the default application data home directory and point it to another preferred location. Here is the reason for the requirement:
1. To run JDBC Gateway server under a system userid whose default application data home directory is read-only.

Symptom

For Windows:
When installing a new JDBC Gateway server from the command prompt, the installation ended immediately and it looks like nothing happened. Opening the installer.log file at the directory where the installation command runs and the error message is displayed: "The system cannot find the path specified".
java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified
	at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method)
	at java.io.File.createNewFile(Unknown Source)
For USS Box:
When installing a new JDBC Gateway server from the shell, the installation ended immediately and it looks like nothing happened. Opening the installer.log file at the directory where the installation command runs and the error message is displayed: "No such file or directory".
java.io.IOException: EDC5129I No such file or directory.
	at java.io.UnixFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method)
	at java.io.File.createNewFile(File.java:1023)
