Problem(Abstract)
When creating a WebSphere Commerce instance using a remote database the following error is found in the console of the Configuration Manager client after the database schema has been created:
Connected to jdbc:oracle:thin:@appserverhostname:1521:TESTDB

java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: xx.xx.xx.xx; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
Cause
The remote database server is unable to resolve the host name address of the server which has WebSphere Application Server running.
Resolving the problem
Modify the /etc/hosts file on the remote database server by adding an entry for the WebSphere Application Server host name.
