Question & Answer
Question
Which Java and WebSphere MQ versions are supported?
Answer
Java(JRE) Support
1. Windows
32 bit Oracle Java is recommended. If a 64 bit Java(JRE) is used, PathWAI Editor for Messages service may not start. To set the JavaHome:
modify kxymsged.control file under $CANDLEHOME$\msgedit\bin
For example: JavaHome=C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7
Tested Java versions are:
Java 7 update 51(jre-7u51-windows-i586.exe)
Java 6 update 45(jre-6u45-windows-i586.exe)
2. Unix

modify $CANDLEHOME$/unix/MsgEdit/bin/kxyruns.sh
For example: JAVA_HOME=/usr/java
Tested Java versions are:
AIX:
java version "1.7.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pap3270_27sr2fp10-20141218_02(SR2 FP10))
IBM J9 VM (build 2.7, JRE 1.7.0 AIX ppc-32 20141215_227395 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
