Java warnings and errors in catalina log during shutdown

Problem

Cognos 10 may generate worrisome messages in the catalina.log file during shutdown, but these messages are simply a side-effect of the newer version of Tomcat reacting to normal system operations, and can be ignored.

Symptom

SEVERE: The web application [/p2pd] created a ThreadLocal with key of type org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils.ThreadLocalDocumentBuilder] (value [org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils$ThreadLocalDocumentBuilder@5fe15fe1]) and a value of type [org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderImpl] (value [org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderImpl@13591359]) but failed to remove it when the web application was stopped. This is very likely to create a memory leak.
