Steps to enable Java toolbox tracing for IBM Navigator for i

Steps

1) Open a web browser to the Navigator for i page and sign in (replace systemName with the IBM i IP address or system name):

http://systemName:2002/Navigator

https://systemName:2003/Navigator

2) On the left menu select image-20250402080049-1icon and select 'Configure GUI Logs':

3) Set 'Navigator GUI Log Level' to 'FINEST',  set 'Finest Trace Component Selection' to all items (Use the pull down and select the top box) or select the components as instructed by IBM service representative and toggle 'Java Toolbox Tracing' on, then click Save:

NOTE: The trace data will be dynamically enabled.

4) Reproduce the problem.

5) To gather the data and submit it to IBM, please use the following instructions to gather an ADMIN collector:

QMGTOOLS: HTTPAdmin Collector for IBM i

6) Once the collector completes, reverse the changes made in step 3 to disable tracing an set the log level back to 'Warning', then click Save again.
