Problem
This technote provides a workaround to an uninstall error: A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run IBM Rational Functional Tester uninstall.
Symptom
IBM Installation Manager would raise this error message during uninstall:
A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run Uninstall. No Java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations: C:\Program Files\IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse\JRE_5.0.3.sr8a_20080811b\jre\bin\javaw.exe
