Is it possible in Maximo to set Inventory Defaults to “Disallow Negative Balance” and also to “Disallow Negative Available Balance” from site level and not from Organization level?
Answer
Out-of-the-box Maximo only lets users set the default Inventory “Negative Current Balance” and “Negative Available Balance” at the Organization level. This is done in the Organizations application Select Action menu.
The default Inventory option information is saved in the MAXVARS table. Maximo Business Objects check this from the MAXVARS table with combination of VARNAME (= ‘NEGATIVECURBAL’ or = ‘NEGATIVEAVAIL’) and ORGID only.
So, users should not set the default Inventory option for Negative Current Balance and Negative Available Balance at the Site level.
