Troubleshooting
Problem
A client LPAR was created from iHosting i with a single 400GB LUN. Performance issues were noticed due to having only one LUN in an iHosting i enviornment and customer wanted to replace the single LUN with eight 80GB LUNs.
Resolving The Problem
In order to migrate/copy a load source, the disk unit must be equal or greater in size. Therefore, it is impossible to perform a Load Source migration to a smaller load source.
You should refer to Chapter 3.5 in the following URL for information on Load Source Migration: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg247200.pdf
It is recommended to have two full system saves (Save 21) and perform a scratch install to reload the system data on the newly configured disk units.
