Issues with the Semantic Types after applying conditional formatting in IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Semantic type does not change when you change an icon for an entity after applying the Conditional Formatting in IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook.

Symptom

When you create an entity on the chart, IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook assigns a default Semantic type (assumed) depending on the entity types. This Semantic type stays tagged to the entity regardless where the entity is on the chart or what conditions you apply to it. See the screenshots below.

But suppose you create an entity on the chart then change its Semantic type (i.e from Person to Picture), then apply the conditional formatting. After applying the conditional formatting, if you then decide to change the icon to a different icon, the Semantic type does not change. See the screenshots below.

Resolving The Problem

Be sure to specify the desired Semantic type when creating a new entity. If the entity was created with the wrong Semantic type, try not to change the Semantic type, instead delete it and create a new one using the correct Semantic type.
