ISDN lines shut down - Sterling B2B Integrator and Sterling File Gateway

Abstract

IBM will close the IBM ISDN lab in Germany due to ISDN lines shutdown. IBM is advising clients to dismiss ISDN for communications with their Trading Partners and to switch to OFTP over IP in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and IBM Sterling File Gateway.

The main ISDN provider in Germany has been systematically shutting down ISDN lines since 2014 with current plans to complete shut down by December 31, 2017 for commercial purposes. As a result of this activity, IBM will close the IBM ISDN lab in Germany effective December 31, 2017. This change will likely have impacts on some European B2B customers. Therefore IBM is advising its clients to move away from the use of ISDN for communications with their Trading Partners. You have the option of switching to OFTP over IP for your communications. IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and IBM Sterling File Gateway currently support OFTP over IP.
