Problem
The Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) function cannot be disabled. The IPv4 function works fine. The option of IPv6 Network Configuration Policy cannot be changed from the following: Setup menu --> System Settings --> Network --> IPv6 Network Configuration --> Policy User change the policy to manual, but it will not work: Setup menu --> System Settings --> Operating Modes Disabling IPv6 will not work.

Symptom
The Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) function cannot be disabled. The IPv4 function works fine.
The option of IPv6 Network Configuration Policy cannot be changed from the following:
Setup menu --> System Settings --> Network --> IPv6 Network Configuration --> PolicyUser change the policy to manual, but it will not work:

Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3100 M4, type 2582, any model
- System x3250 M4, type 2583, any model

The following system BIOS/uEFI level(s) are affected: Build ID: JQE163C and later versionsWorkaround
No workaround. IPv6 function cannot be disabled.
Additional information
This issue is from the network stack. Since network stack cannot be modified, this is a system limitation.
