"invalid_user" error when launching Controller client, caused by not being a member of the 'Controller Users' CA role

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches Controller client. User chooses database. User is prompted with a Cognos namespace logon prompt.
User types in username/password.
  • In some environments (for example on-premise Controller 10.4.0), Error #1 appears.
  • In other environments (for example Controller-on-Cloud integrated with a federated PA system) Error #1 may not appear.
User clicks OK. Error #2 appears.
