"Invalid or nonexistent document" error when archiving mail journaling database by using CommonStore for Lotus Domino

Troubleshooting

Problem

Occasionally you receive errors in the CommonStore for Lotus® Domino® CSLD job database when you are archiving the mail journaling database. For example: CSS7162E: Cannot access note with UNID B199406A83CA29AB852574180067125A. Exact error message: Invalid or nonexistent document

Symptom

The following error is seen in the CSLD job database and the CSLD task console:

CSS7162E: Cannot access note with UNID B199406A83CA29AB852574180067125A. Exact error message: Invalid or nonexistent document

This error occurs only for some documents. When you search for the document using the UNID in Lotus Domino Administrator, you cannot find it.

Cause

The database management of mail journaling is set to purge after a certain number of days. E-mail documents get deleted from the mail journaling database before the e-mail documents are archived by CommonStore for Lotus Domino.

Resolving The Problem

In the Lotus Domino Administrator, check under the server configuration document where mailing journaling is enabled. Make sure that "Database Management" is not set to "Purge."
