A "QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) Link Width Reduction Detected" error is logged in the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) F1 Setup Utility System Event Log as shown below:

A corresponding Aux log event is logged to the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) Event log, but it does not specify a QPI Link Reduction Detected error.

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of IMM.

The target date for this release is scheduled for second quarter 2011.

The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

Workaround

If performance degradation is observed, check the System Event Log in the UEFI F1 Setup Utility.
