Problem
This technote explains why the error, []Internal Error detected in "../map_cache.c" line 2201[], occurs while attempting to join an IBM® Rational® ClearCase® UCM project from the []Join Project[] wizard.
Symptom
Attempts to join a ClearCase UCM project from the Join Project wizard results in the following sequence of errors:
Internal Error detected in "../map_cache.c" line 2201
cleartool: Error: unable to create directory \\Ibm-d15f3483123\temp\test_proj1_vu: Access is denied.
cleartool: Error: Unable to create directory "\\Ibm-d15f3483123\temp\test_proj1_vu": Permission denied.
cleartool: Error: Unable to create view "\\Ibm-d15f3483123\temp\test_proj1_vu".
The next message indicates that the view was not created:
The Internal Error is only reported from the GUI when using the Join Project wizard, but the access denied and permission denied error messages indicate specifically what the problem is.
Note: The Internal Error does not happen when trying to create a view directly from the GUI (View Creation Wizard) or command line (cleartool mkview), even if it is being attached to a stream; only the access denied and permission denied errors will appear.
