Intermittently users are unable to log in to Cognos

Troubleshooting


Problem

Intermittently users are unable to log in to Cognos. When attempting to log in, after submitting credentials, the portal shows a spinning blue wheel that lasts for 5 minutes before erroring out with "Invalid login response".

Symptom

UI Symptoms:
Spinning circle after submitting credentials
HTTP network traffic symptoms:
https://cognos/ibmcognos/bi/v1/login - HTTP 500 internal server error
It will time out after waiting 5minutes for the request.
Cognos Logs:
