Intermittent "The user currently logged in is not authorized to use this method" when using "Maintain - Rights - Users" caused by limitation of Controller on Cloud



User clicks "Maintain - Rights - Users". An error appears.
If the user clicks OK (to the error) then a strange screen might appear (plus more errors).


Initial error:
The user currently logged in is not authorized to use this method
After clicking OK, this screen may appear:

There may also be an error similar to:

  • In this scenario, the cause is an acknowledged limitation of Controller on Cloud, where intermittently this problem may occur.

This is a known limitation of Controller on Cloud. IBM intend to fix the problem with a future/later version of Controller on Cloud.

Close the Controller client. Re-launch Controller client, and re-try.
