Intermittent "Unable to cast COM object of type ... The RPC server is unavailable ... 0x800706BA" error when using Excel functions

Troubleshooting

Problem

User tries to launch an Excel-based function (from inside Controller). An error appears. Problem is intermittent. For example, each user may see it 2 or 3 times per week.
