Intermittent "The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)" errors launching Excel-related functionality

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches the 'main' Controller program. User clicks the 'X' button (to launch the 'Controller link'). An error appears. The problem is intermittent. Most of the time it works OK.

Symptom

User clicks the green 'X' button:

The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
