Intermittent "Microsoft Excel has stopped working" crash, while running (F9) Excel link report, triggered by multi-threading

Problem

User launches Microsoft Excel, and logs onto Controller (via the Excel link). User opens a spreadsheet report (XLSX file with lots of formulae in it). User clicks 'F9' to run (refresh) the report. This works OK. User then presses F9 again (to re-run the report). An error appears.

Symptom

During the 'analysing sheet' phase, the following error is seen:

      Microsoft Excel has stopped working
      APPCRASH
      StackHash

The problem is intermittent. Sometimes the report will work OK.
