Intermittent 'File access is denied ... dbf' error when running a consolidation

Troubleshooting


Problem

User runs a consolidation. Afterwards, user opens the batch queue. The job finished with error.
 

Problem may only affect some (larger or more complicated) consolidations. Other consolidations work OK (no error).

Example:

In one real-life customer example:

  • The issue was intermittent - it occurred most of the time (but not always)
  • It almost always failed when the consolidation contained all 12 periods (entire year). However, it always worked OK when consolidation in blocks of 4 periods.
