Abstract

Instructions for upgrading IBM Information Server Enterprise Search XMETA Oracle repository, Version 11.7.0.0 to 11.7 Fix pack 2 and later. This readme document contains guidance for installation of the 11.7.0.2 and later upgrade package.

If you use Oracle database for the XMETA repository 11.7.0.0, before installing 11.7 Fix Pack 2 or later version, you must update the schema using the script "update_xmeta_db_for_schema_upgrade".

  1. Download and unpack the file: update_xmeta_db_for_schema_upgrade.zip
  2. Run the following command to create the IBM Information Server Enterprise Search schema. All arguments are required and must be specified in the order that is shown in the following example.
    ./update_xmeta_db_for_schema_upgrade.sh OracleSystemUser OracleSystemPassword ServiceName TableSpaceName
    For example:
    ./update_xmeta_db_for_schema_upgrade.sh SYS MANAGER DBNAME xmetaspace
     

    OracleSystemUser
        The Oracle system user used to log in to the sqlplus utility to update the schema.
        This user must be assigned the database administrator role.

    OracleSystemPassword
        The password for the Oracle system user.

    ServiceName
        Oracle TNS service name. This must be a working service name.

    XmetaUserName
        Name of the Oracle user to update the metadata repository tablespace.
