Instructions for installing Information Server Governance Rollup Patch 6

Fix Readme

Abstract

Requirements and instructions for installing Information Server Governance Rollup Patch 6.

Content

Note

IBM InfoSphere Information Server Governance Rollup 6 downloads have been placed on hold due to issues discovered with Information Analyzer. It will become available again when we have a patch for the Information Analyzer issues.

Information Server Governance Rollup 7 is available. Please see this technote for installation information.

This document has been designed to clarify the installation process and replaces any physical README file you may have downloaded previously.

Each rollup for version 11.5 contains the content of the previous rollups. The most recent fix pack release is 11.5 FP1 (11.5.0.1) which is a prerequisite for Governance Rollup 6.

Before you begin.
  1. If you applied the workaround for JR55924 (Installing WAS IFix PI50993 or WAS 8.5.5.9 Causes Information Server to Report java.lang.noclassdeffounderror), you must undo the fix.
    • You copied http*.jar files from
      C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\InfoSphere\lib\iis\20thirdparty
      to
      C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\InfoSphere\classes
      -and-
      <IIS Install>/ASBServer/apps/lib/iis/classes
    • If the work around steps above were performed, it is necessary to remove these manually copied files before proceeding with this patch installation.
  2. Install ISF Rollup 5 version 2. Disregard any pre-req and co-req instructions in the associated readme, as these instructions supersede them. The download document contains installation information.
  3. Follow directions in Technote 1995586 to clean up the istool and IS Manager caches in all relevant locations
  4. Install IBM InfoSphere Information Server Data Integration Rollup 1. This technote and the download document contain installation information.

Procedure

Note: Your IBM ID will be required to access Fix Central. Patches must be installed separately and the -force option should be used if you previously installed one of the patches listed below.

  1. Download and install IBM InfoSphere Information Server Governance Rollup 6. The download document and links to known issues can be found here.
  2. Install the patch for APAR JR56569: Fix Central ID: is115_JR56569_XML_engine_client_all. Please see the associated Security Bulletin If the patch was previously installed it must be reinstalled after the rollup patches using the -force option. If you installed this patch after installing DI RUP 1, you do not need to reinstall it.
  3. Install the patch for APAR JR56733: Fix Central ID: is11501_JR56733_ccgui_client_win. If you installed this patch after installing DI RUP 1, you do not need to reinstall it.
  4. Install the patches for APAR JR56838:
  5. If you are running FastTrack, you must install FastTrack Rollup Patch 1. Fix Central ID: is11501_ft_ru1_services_client_multi
  6. Some of the resolutions in Data Integration Rollup 1 require post-installation steps which can be found in technote: 7046760

Note: IBM Glossary Anywhere client and IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog for Eclipse installation packages are available with this rollup. Additional information and installation instructions can be found here. To install IBM Glossary Anywhere, you must have .NET 4.6.1, or later.

Note: Generic patch installation instructions are available here.

Post-installation steps

If you are upgrading from a previous version of InfoSphere Information Server and already have exception sets in InfoSphere Data Quality Exception Console, you must rebuild the exception set index before you use InfoSphere Data Quality Exception Console.

For more information, see technote 1691829

Procedure:

  1. Open a supported browser
  2. Enter the following URL, which corresponds to the reindex REST API method for InfoSphere Data Quality Exception Console:

    https://server_name:port_number/ibm/iis/dqec/rest/reindex

    Parameters:
server_name - The name or IP address of the services tier computer
port_number - The port number. The default port number for HTTPS is 9443
    .
  3. Enter your credentials to start rebuilding the index. When the re-indexing is finished, the following message is displayed: "Successfully re-indexed all exception sets.”
  4. Close the browser.

Reindex the “da-datastes” Solr collection

If there are already database tables and data files imported into the metadata repository or if you are upgrading from a previous version of InfoSphere Information Analyzer thin client, you must reindex the "da-datasets" Solr collection before using the Information Analyzer thin client.

For more information, see this Knowledge Center topic for details.

Procedure:

If you are installing this patch on an Information Server topology that includes a WebSphere Application Server cluster:

  1. Synchronize the WebSphere Application server nodes and the deployment manager after installation as described here.
  2. If the metadata repository is located in an Oracle database, execute the following statement as an Oracle system user using sqlplus:

GRANT SELECT ANY TABLE TO <xmeta>

Where <xmeta> is the id of the metadata repository user

Note: If 'ANY TABLE' is too generic, see the KNOWN ISSUES section for a finer grained solution to be applied post install.

Switching DB2 Tablespace

By default, a tablespace with the name IADBSPACE is created with the installation of InfoSphere Information Server.

The tablespace is used to store the analysis results in the InfoSphere Information Analyzer Database (IADB) on DB2. Users can now create multiple tablespaces for IADB and switch to one of them at run time.

To switch DB2 Tablespace, run the following command:

/opt/IBM/InformationServer/ASBServer/bin/iisAdmin.sh -set -key com.ibm.iis.ia.iadb.tablespace.name -value IADBSPACE_1

C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBServer\bin\iisAdmin.sh -set -key com.ibm.iis.ia.iadb.tablespace.name -value IADBSPACE_1

If SAML is going to be used, refer to this Technote for setup information.
