Instructions for installing IBM InfoSphere Information Server Framework version 11.3 Rollup Patch 7 or later

This document has been designed to clarify the installation process and replaces any physical README file you may have downloaded previously. Disregard any pre-req and co-req instructions in the README of the Information Server patches listed below, except where indicated otherwise, as these instructions supersede them. The document assumes that the system will not be used until all listed steps have been completed. Details of security issues addressed in the rollup patches can be found in the security bulletin links within the README file.

Other than JR53574, each ISF rollup for version 11.3.1.2 also includes the content of the previous rollups.
The most recent fix pack release for Information Server version 11.3 is 11.3.1.2 which is a prerequisite for Information Server Framework Rollup Patch 7 and Information Server Framework Rollup Patch 8.

Conditional Pre-requisite steps:

If Information Server Framework Rollup Patch 3 has not been installed:
JR53574 was included in ISF 11.3 RU3 but was not included in subsequent rollup patches.
If you wish to address JR53574

for AIX:
install patch_JR53574_ISF_aix_91-113 before or after installing 11.3 RU4 or higher
-or- install is11312_ru3_isf_services_engine_aix before installing 11.3 RU4 or higher
for Solaris:
install is_JR53574_isf_engine_client_solaris before or after installing 11.3 RU4 or higher
for all other platforms:
install is11312_ru3_isf_services_engine_{platform} before installing 11.3 RU4 or higher

1. If WebSphere Application Server is at version 8.5.5.9 or later, and ISF rollup patch 5 or later has not been installed, JR55924 must be applied before installing ISF rollup patch 7 or later as follows:
   Copy http*.jar files from
   C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\InfoSphere\lib\iis\20thirdparty
   to
   C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\InfoSphere\classes
   -and-
   <IIS Install>/ASBServer/apps/lib/iis/classes
2. Apply Merged Security Patch
3. Apply InfoSphere DataStage Security patch
4. Cleanup the cache used by Information Server Manager and istool. See TechNote 1995586 for details.
5. For import of Amazon S3 assets in InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager apply Security Patch
6. InfoSphere Information Server Manager usage:
On each Windows client tier installation,
Close all instances of InfoSphere Information Server Manager (ISM)
In the directory C:\IBM\InformationServer\Clients\istools\manager\plugins, remove the following jars

1. Apply Websphere Application Server fix PI52103 for V8.5.0.0 through 8.5.5.7
2. For WebSphere Application Server follow this Security bulletin
3. Apply DataStage Hierarchical Data Stage Connector Security patch

Install Information Server Framework Rollup 8.

If the JR55924 step (mentioned above) was done:
• Delete the *http*-4.2.1.jar files that were copied into
1. <WebSphere>/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/classes
2. <IIS Install>/ASBServer/apps/lib/iis/classes
• Restart WebSphere
