Troubleshooting

Problem

Although an X11 server is not installed on NPS systems, Netezza provides the open source software as part of the installation CD package

Resolving The Problem

Although an X11 server is not installed on NPS systems due to security concerns, Netezza provides the open source software as part of the installation CD package. To install a minimal X11 server, do the following:

1. From the Netezza Linux CD2, locate the following packages:

    xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-1.EL.13.36.i386.rpm
    xorg-x11-xauth-6.8.2-1.EL.13.36.i386.rpm
    xterm-192-1.i386.rpm

2. Install the RPM packages by entering the following commands in this order:
    rpm -Uhv xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.2-1.EL.13.36.i386.rpm
    rpm -Uhv xorg-x11-xauth-6.8.2-1.EL.13.36.i386.rpm
    rpm -Uhv xterm-192-1.i386.rpm
