- At minimum, a certificate of license and authenticity for SCO Open UNIX 8.0.0 Enterprise Edition
- Supported hard disk drives. Visit the IBM Compatibility Web site for the ServerProven list of supported options and part numbers for your server.
- Supported adapters. Visit the IBM Compatibility Web site for the ServerProven list of supported options and part numbers for your server. If you have added an IBM ServeRAID adapter to your server, you need the following CD and diskettes:
-
- If your server has an integrated LSI Logic Ultra-320 small computer system interface (SCSI) controller, download the UnixWare 7 LSI logic mpt host bus adapter (HBA) device driver image to a diskette. Label the diskette MPT HBA.
- IBM ServeRAID Support CD version 5.11 or higher.
- IBM ServeRAID HBA device drivers for SCO Open UNIX 8.0.0 (UnixWare 7.1.2) diskette. Visit the IBM U.S. Support Web site and download the device driver image to a diskette, or you can download the diskette image file from the IBM ServeRAID Support CD. Label the diskette IPS HBA.
- One blank diskette to create a BIOS code flash diskette. You might need additional blank diskettes for firmware updates.
You can download device drivers and files from the following sites:
- IBM U.S. Support Web site
- SCO Web site: http://www.sco.com
- SCO FTP site: ftp://ftp.sco.com
If you have experience with small computer system interface (SCSI), hardware, and the installation process, continue with section 3.0 Quick installation instructions for experienced users. If not, continue with section 4.0 Detailed installation instructions.
Note: To avoid system boot failures when a ServeRAID SCSI controller is installed in an xSeries IDE server, disable the IDE controller from BIOS, or disconnect the cable from the IDE hard disk drive, before installing SCO Open UNIX 8.0.0 (UnixWare 7.1.2) on the ServeRAID SCSI controller.
Complete the following steps to install SCO Open UNIX 8.0.0 (UnixWare 7.1.2):
- Start the server.
- Insert the Installation CD 1 into the CD-ROM drive.
