Instructions for installing drives in the server
Resolving The Problem
Different types of drives allow the system to read multiple types of media and store more data. Several types of drives are available, such as:
- Diskette (already installed)
- Hard disk
- CD-ROM (already installed)
- Tape, including DLT
Internal drive bays
Internal drives are installed in bays . The bays of the Netfinity 5100 are in the front of the server, as shown in the following illustrations.
WARNING: If you are going to install additional drives in the non-hot-swap bays, you must install the power supply backplane option and additional power supplies.
