You attempt to complete a typical installation of IBM Business Process Manager, a custom installation of IBM Business Process Manager followed by an execution of the BPMConfig command, or a typical installation of IBM Integration Designer including the test environment using a new DB2 database. However, you are notified that the installation failed because you are not able to connect to the DB2 database.
DB2 is installed, but it is not started.
Diagnosing The Problem
Check if Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (or later) is installed on the system.
Resolving The Problem
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (or later) and either restart the typical installation or, if you have done a custom installation, re-run the BPMConfig command.
For more information about the VC++ 2008 redistributable packages, see the Errors when running the db2start command document.
Note: This information is specific to Microsoft Windows 2008 R2. However, the prerequisite for compatible VC++ 2008 redistributable packages applies to other Windows versions
