Open source databases are seeing an increased use in customers and this document is meant to provide a “quick start” with the EnterpriseDB version of the open source PostgreSQL database as well as some of the additional features provided by EnterpriseDB. This document outlines the steps required to install EDB PAS version 9.5 on Red Hat 7.1 LE on IBM POWER8 server, including the installation of Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM) into a Linux on Intel environment. A sample schema migration from an Oracle database to EDB PAS is covered as well.
