This document describes another method of installing the Advanced Job Scheduler plug-in.
Resolving The Problem
NOTE: This is for the old Client Access that is no longer supported. Effective April 30, 2019, IBM® has withdrawn support for 5770-XE1 IBM i Access for Windows™ 7.1. IBM i Access for Windows 7.1. was delivered with IBM i 7.3, 7.2, and 7.1. Extended support will not be available.
This document describes a supplemental method of installing the Advanced Job Scheduler plug-in if other installation methods have proven unsuccessful. Client Access Express, IBM iSeries Navigator, and Management Central must all be installed on the PC before the Advanced Job Scheduler can be installed.
Note: These instructions do not apply to V6R1. There is no selective installation option at that release.
To install Advanced Job Scheduler, follow this procedure:

To install Advanced Job Scheduler, follow this procedure:
| 1. | From the iSeries family of servers system, use the Restore Licensed Program (RSTLICPGM) command or GO LICPGM, Option 11, to install the Job Scheduler licensed program (5722-JS1). |
| 2. | From iSeries Navigator, expand My Connections, and expand the iSeries family system that has the Job Scheduler licensed program installed. |
| 3. | Expand File Systems. |
| 4. | Expand Integrated File Systems. |
| 5. | Expand Root. |
| 6. | Expand QIBM. |
| 7. | Expand ProdData. |
| 8. | Expand OpNavPlugin. |
| 9. | Drag and drop the IBM.AdvJobScheduler directory to your desktop. Make a temporary directory on the local PC drive, net drive, or IBM iSeries NetServer to copy the files. |
| 10. | Close iSeries Navigator. |
| 11. | Start IBM Client Access Express. a Choose Selective Setup. b Click Next. c Use the Source Directory C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\IBM.AdvJobScheduler (for Microsoft Windows 95) or c:\WINNT\Desktop\IBM.AdvJobScheduler (for Microsoft Windows NT). Or, use the path that specifies where the IBM.AdvJobScheduler folder is located. If you are using a network drive or iSeries NetServer, ask your network administrator for the correct path. d Click Next. e Expand iSeries Navigator. f Select Advanced Job Scheduler. This might be the last item in the iSeries Navigator options. g Select Next. The Install Completed window appears. Select Next. Several status screens are shown while the installation is taking place. h A warning dialog box might appear. Click OK. i Select Finish to complete and exit the setup. Close the readme file. |
| 12. | After the installation has completed, do the following: a Restart iSeries Navigator. b Expand Management Central. c Click on Scan Now in response to the message that Windows detected a new component being installed. You might see this window again when you access systems from My Connections. |
| 13. | You will see an Advanced Job Scheduler container appear under the Management Central as shown below: |
