Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

Troubleshooting


Problem

The  Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments console or silent install on Redhat Linux fails with error "Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported".

Symptom

An example of the error follow below.

1. Execute the following command to install 8.1.4.1-TIV-TSMVE-Linux package:

./install-Linux.bin -i console

2. The installation fails with the following console messages:

Preparing to install
Extracting the JRE from the installer archive...
Unpacking the JRE...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
 
Launching installer...

Select Locale...
----------------
 
    1- Deutsch
  ->2- English
    3- Español
    4- Français
    5- Italiano

Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported
 
Unable to load and to prepare the installer in console or silent mode.
