Install the RRDI 2.0.x JRE Patch to resolve security vulnerabilities in Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence 2.0.x and Rational Insight 1.1.1.x - Oracle CPU October 2013

Procedure:

1. Shut down the report server WAS service.
   
   
2. Download the RRDI 2.0.x JRE Patch from https://jazz.net/downloads/RRDI/releases/2.0.x. Click the All Downloads tab and download the patch for your platform. Unzip its content to a local directory, for example <RRDIPatchDir>.
   
   
3. Open a command or terminal window and navigate to <RRDIPatchDir>.
   
   
4. Run the following command:
• Windows: update.bat
• Linux: ./update.sh
  
  
5. Navigate to <RRDIInstallDir>/etl/jre/bin, run "java -version" and verify that the IBM JRE version has been upgraded to IBM Java 6 SR15. If you have installed the Rational Insight Development Tools, navigate to <RRDIDevToolsInstallDir>/etl/jre/bin and perform the same verification.
   
   Notes:
   
   The patch will not run if you have a process, command or terminal window that accesses the <RRDIInstallDir>/etl/jre or <RRDIDevToolsInstallDir>/etl/jre directory. Terminate the process and close the command/terminal window before proceeding.
   
   If step 4 fails because the patch is not able to locate the JRE to patch, open <RRDIPatchDir>/update.properties with a text editor, uncomment and specify the values for the pathToRRDI and pathToDevTools properties, and run the following command:
• Windows: update.bat -s
• Linux: ./update.sh -s
