Troubleshooting
Problem
Because the Controller application server contains a small portion of 32-bit code (in addition to the vast majority of 64-bit code) it is necessary to install both the Oracle 64-bit and 32-bit clients (on the application server). Administrator therefore installs the Oracle 12c 64-bit client first. This is successful. Afterwards, the administrator attempts to launch the Oracle 12c 32-bit client installer (setup.exe). An error appears.
Symptom
The error message/symptom will vary depending on environment.
Example: Windows 2016
[INS-10102] Installer initialization failed.
Cause - An unexpected error occured while initializing the Installer. Action - Contact Oracle Support Services or refer logs Summary - [INS-10002] Inventory initialization failed
