InfoSphere Information Server, Version 9.1, 9.1.0.1, and 9.1.2 for Linux

InfoSphere Information Server combines the technologies of IBM InfoSphere Blueprint Director, IBM InfoSphere Business Glossary, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, IBM InfoSphere FastTrack, IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer, IBM InfoSphere Information Services Director, IBM InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, and IBM InfoSphere QualityStage into a single unified platform that enables companies to understand, cleanse, transform, and deliver trustworthy and context-rich information.

To learn about the installation process:

1. Review the system requirements, and if necessary, download the product and any required fix packs or updates.
2. Read the Quick Start Guide for the process overview and return here to download the product.
3. Review the release notes for the latest information to ensure successful installations.
4. Read the latest Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide to perform the installation.
5. If you are migrating from IBM InfoSphere Information Server, Version 8.0.1 or later, read the migration information.

Important notes

1. Before you can use the InfoSphere Information Server Packs for JD Edwards, Oracle and PeopleSoft, make sure that you meet the following software requirements:

   • JD Edwards release notes - Software requirements
   • Oracle release notes - Software requirements
   • PeopleSoft release notes - Software requirements

2. Before you can use the IBM InfoSphere Blueprint Director 2.0 with Information Server Version 9.1.0.1 or Information Server Version 9.1.2.0, see JR47595. You must install the patch_JR47595_client_windows_9101-9120.zip that is available from the IBM Support Fix Central site in order for the Blueprint Director to function properly with the Information Server.

Downloading the product

Your proof of entitlement instructs you on the products that you have purchased and can therefore download, install and run.

Note:

If you have not previously installed Version 9.1, you should download and install Version 9.1.2 as it is a full install that contains all of the fixes that are in Version 9.1 Fix Pack 1 and Fix Pack 2.

To download the product:

1. Go to the Find Downloads and Media web page and log in.
2. Under the Download finder options, select the Find by part number search option.
3. Search for each downloadable image by the part number, for example:

4. Download all the required images.
5. Extract each of the images into a single, temporary directory on your system. Use a file extracting utility that supports large file extractions.
6. Download the Quick Start Guide. Follow the instructions to perform the basic installation of the product.
7. If you are migrating from IBM InfoSphere Information Server, Version 8.0.1 or later, read the migration information.
