Troubleshooting
Problem
The Column Analysis or Data Rule will not run. The Global System Analysis Engine & Database properties have been validated and there is no error. Checking in the /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/iasServer.log There are messages similar to - 2013-12-12 10:16:36,385 Error [IBM-IA-SERVER] [] Unable to validate DSOptions: missing username
Symptom
The InfoSphere Information Analyzer client displays just the message "Error". When checking for DataStage logs with DataStage director, no logs are created.
Checking in the
/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/InfoSphere/iasServer.log
There are messages similar to -

Other possible errors may include messages like username invalid, password invalid.
Cause
Each project has its own Project level properties. These may be out of sync with the global properties if the project was created prior to changes made in the global properties or if the project level properties were updated manually.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve this issue, correct the project level properties.
Go to Overview->Project Properties

Click on the Analysis Engine Tab.
Use the button for "restore system settings"
Click the button for Validate Settings.

Click on the Analysis Database Tab.
Make sure the correct ODBC DSN is selected.
Use the button for "restore system settings"
Validate the Client connection
Validate the Engine connection
Click the button for Validate Settings.

Be sure to save your work.
Test the Column Analysis and/or Data Rules.
