"Index was outside the bounds of the array ... .ControllerReportNetService.RepNet.GetUserInfo" when logging into Controller (using CAM)

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches Controller client. User chooses database. 
  • An error appears.
The following ideas do not solve the problem:
  • Deleting the Controller cache folder (%APPDATA%\Cognos\CCR)
  • Deleting the Internet Explorer temporary files.

Symptom

The following error appears after selecting the database:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --> System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.  at
Cognos.Controller.Proxy.ControllerReportNetService.RepNet.GetUserInfo (String sGuid, String sUser.String passportId) at
