Abstract
This note is to inform you of a defect discovered internally that affects IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel Release 25, logged as "Inconsistent results when using Refresh Workbook vs. Refresh Page". This potentially impacts customers when using formula based reports in Planning Analytics for Excel (Explorations and Quick Reports are not impacted).

This note is to inform you of a defect discovered internally that affects IBM Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel Release 25, logged as "Inconsistent results when using Refresh Workbook vs. Refresh Page".
This problem only affects PA for MS Excel release 25 installations and is corrected in PA for MS Excel release 26. In the interim, the following details a workaround for this problem:
In the CognosOfficeXLLSetting.xml file located on the client's machine in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Cognos\Office Connection, add the following parameter and use this default value in the <userSettings> section:
<setting name="MinimumPolytopeSize">2147483647</setting>
Here is an example of where the entry should be positioned in the file:
<userSettings>
<setting name="ServerMap">{"Servers":[....]}</setting>
<setting name="MinimumPolytopeSize">2147483647</setting>
</userSettings>
